Ceili Dancing

P6 pupils joined pupils from St Brigid's PS, Glassdrummond and St Patrick's PS, Crossmaglen for ceili dancing. As you can see from the photos all pupils joined in and enjoyed their afternoon dancing together!

Matxalen our Spanish Teacher

We are very pleased to welcome Matxalen from Bilbao, Basque Country to our school. Matxalen has set up a blog for pupils to visit and to practise Basque and Spanish songs which they are learning in class.

Notice to Parents

We are hoping to establish a school to home text service to promote a wider spectrum of communication tools to get messages to parents and carers. I have sent home with pupils today (15th March) a form to be completed by you the parents which simply requests that you submit a mobile phone number to the school. This will allow us to optimise the effectiveness of communications from the school to you and remove an over reliance on children having to remember that they have a note to be given to parents.
So look out for the form which your child should have and return it to school as soon as possible.

"New Year's Day Dippers" Raise £1056 for St.Mary's P.S.

St.Mary's P.S. and St.Joseph's Special School Bessbrook both receive a cheque from the "New Years Day Dippers" for £1056.
The staff and pupils deeply appreciate the efforts of all who braved the elements and plunged into Camlough lake on 1st January. A big thank you from all at St.Mary's!!!

                                     Mon’ 12^th March

Parents,

There will be two photographers in attendance who have arranged the following schedule in the school assembly hall:

·       From 8.30 a.m. onwards Parents with family groups including pre-school children.

·       Individual infants, nursery, Foundation stage (P1 &2) and KS1 (P3 &4) up to first break.

·       Family groups within school between first break and lunch time.

·       After lunch family groups that have no infants.

·       After lunch KS2 (P5,6&7) individuals.

·       Staff individuals throughout the day.

·       Whole class photographs will be taken on Thursday 19^th April

There is no obligation to buy photographs once they have been taken. Packs of photographs will be presented and you can decide then what you might like to purchase or not. A copy of individual photographs will be kept to upload onto the SIMS school records.

IMPORTANT   NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS

There are children in this school who are extremely vulnerable to infection whose life and wellbeing could be seriously compromised if illnesses in your home are not reported to the school

Please ensure the following:

·    Contact the school and detail the specific illness if you have kept a child at home.

( The chickenpox virus is particularly dangerous for one of our pupils )

·    A sick child should remain at home.

·    Your child should be fully recovered before returning to school.

TESCO for schools and clubs vouchers

We are collecting TESCO vouchers for schools, please donate any vouchers you receive to the office or into the Nursery.  The more vouchers we receive the more equipment we will be able to order, so please spread the word with family and friends.  Many thanks.
